Week Fifteen- January 24-28

Monday-Talked to Mike about all the details- the painting, receptacles, bathroom stuff. Tomorrow Jim is staying home to work with the two guys our friend Stuart has used to help him build things for years. It is going to be a hideous digging job- digging out the dirt around the foundation so we will be able to put the drainage and concrete in. Hope it all works. Today I came home and there's a beautiful granite top to the vanity!
Tuesday-A lot of work! The guys dug all day around the house - it's amazingly deep and flat- I have no idea how this is possible with a pick and shovel. Wednesday-More digging- Jim working on things with them. The tile guy continues to work on the shower. Mike came and made the front craftsman trim pieces. I got sick and came home.
Thursday-The guys finished as much as they could. We had to take out the Cassia tree/bush in front that the birds loved. They came and sat on the fence and tweeted hugely!!! I was very sad- but the trench has to go through that very spot. Friday-Painters came and were prepping the outside. A Ryebuilt guy came and painted waterproofing around the foundation. I stayed home Thursday and Friday with this gross congestion. Jim and I are wagering on another four weeks.I went and talked to the neighbors, Bill and Marlene- about their renovation- very similar to ours.
